Hi all,

I did a delete, and then did an ovtopofix and restarted netmon, but still can't get the IP subnet to re-appear. I am not sure if the nodes in that subnet were managed or not, if they weren't I could see this would probably be my problem. Basically, my dilemma is as follows: I placed a bunch of ip subnets into a location object, but now, wish to undo that, ie. get rid of the location objects and have the IP subnets appear back on my default map, instead of within the location submap...Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to go about doing this without losing my subnets?

Thanks for your time

If this happened to me, I would be very certain that I had fat-fingered the
cut and done a copy instead. I would expect that there was still a symbol
for the subnet inside the location icon. If there were not too many nodes
on that subnet, I would delete it (from all) and do an ovtopofix and
restart netmon. If there were a lot to be lost by doing that, I would
right-mouse
on the floating symbol and delete the symbol using the context menu.

Cordially,

Subject:  Map Questions

Hi all,

I am running Netview 5.1, Framework 3.6 on AIX 4.3.2... I had a bunch of IP
subnets that I grouped into one location symbol/object. I bascially created
a location symbol, selected each IP subnet, Cut from the submap, opened up
the location symbol and Pasted them into there...Everything worked fine.
Now, the problem I having now is going in reverse. I have tried to take a
few of these subnets out of the location submap and back onto the IP
Internet map, but when I cut them from the location submap, and paste them
back into the IP Internet map, they appear with that shadow and their
connections to the router does not show up on the IP Internet map (although
it does appear in the router's submap). I have tried deleting the
connection from the router submap, in hopes that it will be re-discovered,
but it doesn't happen... I hope this description makes some sense! Any help
would be greatly appreciated...
