No. Changes to Nvevents affect only your GUI, not the daemon.

Do I need to stop and restart the nvserverd daemon once I make the change
to
the "Nvevents" file? Thanks,

Joe

You would have to create a filter or a ruleset to keep these events off the
display.

If you use a filter, you can make it always applied to your workspaces by
creating a $HOME/.<userid>.events file (this is described in the Admin
Guide) which names that filter; or you could start up a workspace, apply
the filter, save the environment, and then change the Nvevents app-defaults
file to say LoadEnvOnInit : true . With a ruleset you could change the
Nvevents file to make it the default ruleset rather than forwardall.rs.
The ruleset itself would look like forwardall.rs but it would look for your
specific trap types and set them to Block.

Is it possible to set an event to "Log Only" and still be able to forward
the event through the rules engine, which in turn forwards the specific
event to T/EC for us? I tried configuring this, but the event is now not
getting forwarded to T/EC. I basically generate a specific event that
"knows" to forward it T/EC, but I do not want these specific events
displayed in the NV Event window. How can I do this?
