I used the following command to change the retention of images from 1 year to 6 months but the ‘Data Expiration’ date shown on the media in the GUI or when running bpmedialist (see below for syntax) did not change.
bpexpdate -recalculate -backupid [name_time] -ret 6 -force
bpmedialist -m [media_id]
I did verify both from the GUI (Reports -> Tape Reports -> Images On Tape, and using bpimmedia -mediaid [media_id]) that all images on the media have had their retention changed.
Any ideas?
