I'm ready to beat my head into a wall on this...
I've read the guides, searched almost everywhere and I can't figure this out. Exchange 2010 environment, with 3 mailbox servers each containing 1 active database and 2 passive.
Mailbox1 Mailbox2 Mailbox 3
Database1-Copy 1 Database2-Copy 1 Database3--Copy 1
Database2-Copy 2 Database3-Copy 2 Database1-Copy 2
Database3-Copy 3 Database1-Copy 3 Database2-Copy 3
NBU 7.1.0.3 installed on the media server and on the Mailbox, CAS, and HT servers.
When we run a backup it appears we are getting all three copies, on all three servers. Our Exchange team is asking us to backup Copy 3 only. We do have "passive copy only" selected in the policy, but it doesn't seem to care what is selected, it grabs all copies. I don't know if there is a configuration change that needs to be made on the Exchange side, or if I'm missing an obvious step from NetBackup. Also, instead of using the DAG, is it possible to just manually select the database on the mailbox server we want to backup? I tried, and got a "you must use DAG" or something to that effect.
