Symantec has “follow the sun” support so that the person you speak to will be in the timezone that is daylight at the time you speak to them.  (Unfortunately I once had to speak to 3 different call centers for an issue that lasted more than 24 hours so I know this all too well.)

 

As to how the contracts work I’m not sure.  Although I’ve worked on international projects the central servers (and therefore their backups) were all in the US.

i have a general question:  how do companies work with symantec for support on backup environments in different countries?  do you need a separate symantec support agreement for each country?  or is there a "universal" support agreement that can cover all backup environments of a company in the known universe?
