You first need follow the steps to decommission the media server properly and then remove the /usr/openv directory.

Then you can go ahead and install netbackup client binaries on the system.

netbackup client?
Or it's as simple as to uninstall netbackup software and install client version?
We're using netbackup 7.0 on solaris 10 sparc platform.
