In my environment, I treat it like a Life Boat - I want my boat to float
and have the Catalog available if there was a major SAN issue.

Although CatBackup is backed to tape, I do occasionly create a DR copy
if required (ie: During Maintenance of SAN)!

We also have our Catalog connected to a LUN on the SAN. That we we can
expand the LUN if needed, as out catalog grows. We also make a catalog
backup to our DR site so that we could retreirve our catalog if the
primary data center had an issue.
