when I was doing this, I was using DNS all the way through, including my VM Media Server, that had the Storage presented to it. It is very important, as the DNS is heavily relied on.

Pretty sure I was using FQDN on clients for restores as well.Note, my testing was on 7.0.1 by the way.

According to the doc in 7.1 you can backup vm servers by dns name. Is anyone doing this?
