[Veritas-bu] DataDomain Optimized Duplication Failures

I'm having issues with Data Domain optimized duplication and wondered if anyone here had seen any issues like this. I've got a case with both Symantec and DataDomain but thought I'd check here too.

Environment:
NBU 7.0 on Linux RHEL5, Nine Windows 2008 R2 Media servers (Master and Medias are all VMs)
DDOS 4.8.1.0, OST plug-in 2.2.1.1
Using SLPs and optimized duplication to control the replication to a remote DDR

Here's what happens:
Anytime a duplication job kicks off with more than one image to duplicate to the remote DDR, it will complete the first one and fail on the next one with an 83 (media open error). A new job will then kick off with the remaining images to be duplicated. The same thing will happen where the first one completes and the remaining N images fail. Repeat until all images in the list complete. If a dupe job with only one image is spawned, that image will complete successfully.

For example: duplication job starts with 3 images. The first image completes successfully, but the job then fails. Another duplication is started with the 2 images that did not complete and the first image of that list completes successfully and then fails again. A final job is started with the last image and completes successfully (status 0). This behavior is consistent regardless of the number of images in the list.
