Re: [Veritas-bu] VTL Recommendations

I would recommend moving away from the
Virtual Tape Library and utilizing Advanced Disk, Disk Pools and Storage
LifeCycle Policies. Most "VTLs" today can be utilized as a giant
pool of disks, instead of a bunch of fake tape drives, as well. But, at
that point, you could remove the complication of a "VTL" and
just use a disk array on the backend.

To all,
I was hoping to get some feedback from the community on what type of VTL
you guys use and if you would recommend looking into it.
We currently have Copan and NetApp VTL. NetApp disbanded their VTL practice
so moving forward support will be an issue. Copan is and has been running
well, we are just looking into alternatives, if it makes sense.
Any suggestions?
Thank you for your feedback in advance.
