Since I only want to do this for my weekend full backup I will have this 
command run in a script scheduled on Friday:

nbstlutil inactive -lifecycle slp-fileserver

this will prevent duplication from running, but not the backup, which is 
perfect. And then, monday morning i'll have this script run:

nbstlutil active -lifecycle slp-fileserver

and duplication will process during the day :)
