Ive been using NBU since 3.4 on Windows (Great platform isnt it !!!) and
have to say I do use CLI alot, more so for indepth troubleshooting.

Has its uses!

Even we old time UNIX curmudgeons see value in some GUI.

What we see NO value in is a system that ONLY does GUI.  You simply get
far more control with CLI flags and scripting than can be built into any
GUI.  (Well actually you might be able to build it into a GUI but your
box' radio buttons would have to fill the screen).

The funny thing is over time Windows is actually adding more and more
CLI capabilities for advanced administrators because they've finally
recognized the limitations of GUI.

For Windows, Symantec provides a silent install batch file or you can
create an .msi transform to install remotely.  Simply share the client
source on your master, and run something like PsExec to run the command
from the client.***

Granted, it's not as easy as the Unix/Linux method, and it's outside the
administration console.

***Note to Ed Wilt's Management: Custom .mst transforms and PsExec are
not supported by Symantec.

You can install UNIX/Linux clients from the Java GUI. But not windoze
clients. At least the option doesn't appear. If you click on Policies
--> Summary of All Policies --> Clients then right click on a client it
will show if you can install/upgrade of not.
