BTW Thanks for your help, and actually about missing drives, there are two NDMP 
devices as well as the one hcart drive that are not listed in device monitor.   
Also, I cannot seem to delete the drive that has no name nor host name, but 
only has a bogus serial number, 1110336099, so the Global Database contains 
false entries of ghost devices.
