Yep, 6.5 is very picky about this. So
is the Java GUI. Adding the FQDN to the hosts file has resolved a number
of connection problems with the Java GUI.

Thanks Justin,
I found the problem. The media server can not resolve the fully qualified
host name of the master server (EMM server).
