When an image is duplicated to tape in a DSU environment is the duplication halted when a restore comes in and is requesting a tape and all drives are busy duplicating ?
No. Restore jobs, by default, have a higher priority than duplication jobs, but your current duplication needs to finish before the restore starts. Then the restore runs, and then duplications and other backup jobs compete for the tape drives.
When a duplication is stopped (see previous question) is it possible to resume or does it start from the beginning ?
You can't suspend a duplication job - you can only kill it. A single job may duplicate many images. When a duplication job starts again, it will skip the images that have already been duplicated.
Symantec has a duplication suspend/resume wish list item on their todo list.
