[Veritas-bu] bpexpdate on primary copy
2009-09-21 06:16:54
I am running a script to duplicate a bunch of media and check for the
tape requirements and expipre the tape once the duplication has completed.
We are writing copy 2 to a DSSU and then destaging from there tp copy 3
on tape. The problem is that occassionally of the on disk image is
expired before the original image then copy 1 on the source tape get
made the primary again.
I can change copy3 to be primary and then expire the source tape; or I
could just expire the source tape with bpexpdate -m. I know that if I
expire an image I can specify a copy number and once expired the other
copy will be promoted to primary. Does any one know if the same applies
when using -m <tape> for expiration?
Regards
James
