I am not a Solaris expert, but having the CAtalog on the SAN should be
fine, regardless of the OS.

Look for the chapter "Upgrading NetBackup on Unix and Clients" and also
"Complete your system update as an upgrade".

Sorry, but I do not have step by step help, but this should be a good
place to start.
