[Veritas-bu] Upgrading to LTO4 Tape Library.

Dear all,

Right now we are on HP-LTO2 (Quantom 1500) with 3 drives. So far working
fine.

Here is some setup details.

1. Oracle ERP backup, where we do backup
1.1 Oracle Database backup by RMAN.       -- File size from 2 gb to 8 GB.
about 800 gb.
1.2 ERP application files... -- normal binary files
1.3 Small files (log/out/tmp) more than 1000K.  -- 1 k to 5 mb

Apart from that we are going to introduce VMWare VCB backup's -- Files size
from 10 gb to 800 gb.
Also we are doing some NFS backup over the N/W.

Need ur advise how we can achieve the beset performance from LTO4.
As of now we are not using any kind of disk staging backup.
Enable the Encryption using key mgmt.

The back-end storage is EMC.
