Hi All,

I am having a few problems with configuring Netbackup to backup the passive
node of our Exchange 2007 CCR Cluster. Our environment is as follows:

Netbackup 6.5.3 Master Server running on RHEL 5
2 x Netbackup 6.5.3 Media Servers running on RHEL 5
2 x Exchange 2007 Servers running on Windows 2008 64bit installed with 6.5.3
version of the Netbackup client.

I believe I have configured the Exchange Servers and Netbackup correctly to
backup from the passive node but the job always runs on the active node. I
have done the following to configure a job:

- Created an AD user, added them to local admin group on each node, configure
the NB service to run as the user and given the user admin permissions in
Exchange.
- Created the relevant registry key on each CCR node and restarted the
Clustered Mailbox Server
- Installed NB 6.5.3 client on each node and configured it so the master server
can connect.
- Created a job on the master server with the back type being Exchange, the
cluster name as the client and First Storage Group as the backup selection.
- After creating the job I went to the host properties of the client and
selected backup from passive node and fail if not available.

I the ran the job which completed successfully, however the job tracker on the
clients indicated the backup job ran on the active node. I then shutdown the
passive node and re ran the job, the job still completed successfully,
confirming the job was actually running on the active node.

I have set logging to verbose to see if I can capture anything there. A log is
not created in BPFIS (where I believe the errors for CCR clusters get logged
to) and the other logs don't log any errors. The Beds/monadlog file suggests
that NB knows that a CCR cluster exists and identifies the correct passive node.

Can anyone give me any other pointers that I am missing?
