These three files do different things, so your results with each will be different.

This article doesn't talk about buffers for disk, so if you have dsu/dssus configured, check into these. I believe all of this info is also in the latest tuning guide.

What it will boil down to is you will have to test values and see what works best for your systems. I'll caution that if your system is not setup with enough shared memory (/etc/system has a setting for this on solaris), you will start getting shared memory errors and jobs will fail with EC 89. I'd change that before making these tweaks.
