I'm using INTEL PRO/1000 PCIe Quad Port nics here in a teamed
configuration without issue.  I don't remember the exact spec, but the
switch gets configured to some 802.xx spec and then you create the team
via the intel software (Windows 2003 in this case).  I configured this
two years ago and I don't have it in my documentation but it has been
flawless.  The intel creates a virtual nic in windows that you configure
with the IP and you are good to go.  At the time my network guy and I
both got familiar with the INTEL Network doc on the nics to get it
configured right but its been great since then.  In fact, the only issue
I can remember is that ths intel software couldn't be configured by RDP
for some reason.  I had to login to the console to configure it.

We have a cisco network with a 1gb backbone. At this point we are
hammering the network when we run backups. We have tried link
aggregation on the backbone and the nics on the master/media servers
with very poor results. A lot of failed jobs. We have tried this with
5.1, 6.0 and now 6.5 with equally bad results. Has anyone ever made this
work with cisco router/switches and w2k3r2 servers. Our servers are
using intel nics at the moment but we could switch to broadcom if
necessary. I have seen that some folks running sun have made this work.
