As long as you have good name resolutions (ie DNS) then the IP should
not matter :)

As always, do a good catalog backup before any changes, and one after
the changes have been made (just to be on the safe side)

I'm not 100% sure, but I was always told no, you cannot change the IP.

Can you change the ip address on a master server?
I know you can't change the hostname, but I can't remember if you can
change the ip address without any issues.
