*Job Description* IT Data Protection Engineer with a minimum of 3 years
hands-on experience for a large scale IT infrastructure environment supporting
a large user community. Job includes managing Backup and Recovery, Replication,
and Point in Time data protection systems.
The IT Data Protection Engineer must have extensive experience in supporting
large environments. Primary responsibilities include interfacing with other
infrastructure teams, providing Tier 3+ problem analysis and support. This
position will primarily be responsible for interfacing with IT Operations
Center staff to ensure smooth operation of Data Protection systems and recovery
using these systems when necessary. Other duties include
evaluation/design/implementation of software products and utilities, system
administration, performance analysis, tuning, system upgrades, patching, and
monitoring
*Skills/Experience* Strong experience with Backup and Recovery, Replication,
and Point in Time copy technologies required. Specific experience with
NetBackup Enterprise, NetBackup PureDisk, VTL, and Data De-Duplication
technology is preferred. Candidate should have extensive experience and
knowledge of Active Directory, Linux, Solaris, and Windows. Data archiving
solutions experience also a plus. Candidates are required to have strong
communication skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
He/she must also be able to interact with all levels of management and IT
peers. The candidate must also be customer service oriented and demonstrate
initiative and a sense of ownership of projects of extremely complex scope
& problem-solving situations. Should be able to contribute to the
development of innovative ideas and applications.
*Education Requirements* Preferred: Bachelor's, Computer Science
