Hello,

One of the features of 6.5 that we were anxious to try out was the use
of LiveUpdate to push out patches. We run a Solaris master, so
managing the UNIX clients was always easy, but the Windows clients
were often lagging behind with their updates. Upon playing with
LiveUpdate I stumbled upon the initial problem of no LiveUpdate format
packages being available, but as of last week Symantec now has the
necessary .zip files available on the public ftp server.

IMO the GUI is a horrible botch for managing the LiveUpdate policies
though, so I opened a case asking if there were any command line
options to manage these policies. Good news, bpplclients will do it,
albeit with an undocumented qualifier:

Examples:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpplclients <policy name> -internal
-add <client name> <hardware> <os>

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpplclients -internal -allunique

When you have lots of clients to manage, this should be a big win over
using the GUI.
