In my experience multi-streaming had to be disabled to make exclude lists work the way they should work. For e.g., if P: in your backup list is configured to be a separate stream in the policy then you'll see errors and that particular job will fail.

Jason, you're seeing the stream because, I presume, you policy includs
ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES, which means the directory entry information for P:\
will be backed up but the contents of it will not. (That behavior should
be true for all of your original examples.)

Gregory, a minor nit: even under Windows, NetBackup uses Unix-style file
globs. It's not necessary to say "P:\*.*". In fact, unless I'm mistaken,
that will fail to exclude files that lack a period (yes, you're allowed
to have files without a file extension in an NTFS partition). No, I
haven't tested this theory (fail to exclude files lacking a period), but
I'm certain that "P:\*" is enough, because it's all I do.

After I sent it, I did a double check.  I have three drives I'm
avoiding.
The Page and some log files that get backed up by a specific policy.
The
two others backed up 1 file, 0KB.  The Page file backed up 4 files,
20KB.
So, I'm guessing it's working; I wasn't anticipating the stream though.

Thanks,
Jason
