NDMP works like this (typically)


                    ---------------------------> ROBOT CONTROLLER
                   /
NetBackup Server <-> network <-> NDMP_DEVICE <-> TAPE_1
                                             \
                                              <-> TAPE_2

The NetBackup server 'sees' the drives through the NDMP device.
