After a long week of trouble shooting we have finally got the auto load fixed. SUN engineers
have been tracing the scsi data connection streams and determined that the commands needed were being sent to the server but we had no way to identify if the server was getting it. After talking with SUN engineer we
decided to check out the windows device driver and determined that the driver in use was a specific L700 RSM driver. That is not what is normally used. We removed it and went back to the generic “Windows medium driver” and rebooted the server. After that
it started loading tapes.
This is a secondary problem to the original router going bad. When the robot was rediscovered after replacing the router, the driver loaded was the wrong one. This would have caused the same problems even if
we had an L700. They use the same drivers.
The SUN driver was L700 1.1.2.2, the Windows driver we are now using is Microsoft Driver 5.2.3790.0
