Ran into similar issues, don't know if this helps

I went from DSSUs created with Solaris 8/9 servers. Standard ufs (no
comments on this one required)

but when I redid the same ones and recreated under Solaris 10 it cleared
up.  Don't know if it was a fragmentation issue

or some of the new imaps  to read the file structures but recreating

Recently we have found that for some reason the DSSU policy takes a long
time to finish. The tape drive mounts the volume but sits there for 5
hours before it actually starts. I have spoken to the guys at Symantec
and they say it is due to large images being staged. I had a look at the
images and they are no more than 8GB in size. 

We had our current setup for the some time now and it appears that it is
taking longer and longer to stage. I also found that the Vaulting is
doing the same thing. I have had a look at the groups and forums and
could not find anything use full. 

Has any body out there got any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
