I am using unixpwd on the master server (which is the root and ab), I logged into my 2k3 media server and did bpnbat -login :

After successful login i ran a tpconfig -emm_dev_list without error.

Thanks Tejas What if our unix NIS domain and windows domain are separate entities? Is it possible to authorize a user on a media server when the account does not exist i.e unix & windows accounts are different ? Dave, As long as both media servers (on unix and windows) are part of the same Root Broker hierarchy and the logged in user has been authorized on both media servers, you should be able to to pull info with the same user.
