[Veritas-bu] validating rman restore using vrtual ip

Hi all,

I have an Oracle database 10.2.0.3 on a solaris 10 box. I’m using suncluster on this machine, so I have virtual hostnames. My host “physical “ name is sg-ora-des02 and my virtual hostname is desempenho. The sg-ora-des02 ip address is 192.168.2.150 and the virtual hostname (desempenho) ip address is 192.168.2.146. I’m using rman to do backups and my netbackup is version 4.5_sp6. I’m doing Oracle backup using desempenho hostname. When I try to valide the backup set, I’m receiving:

08:35:45 client desempenho peername sg-ora-des02 is invalid for restore request

08:35:45 INF - Server status = 131

On my cluster I have 2 machines sg-ora-des01 and sg-ora-des02. Desempenho is the virtual hostname and the listener is listening on this name.

Can anyone help me?
