I am keen to get to know and hear if MP4 is trouble - free and resolves a
lot of issues, especially for windows servers.

Still trying to decide if upgrading 5.1 is the best method, or maybe migrate
over to a new Server?

I am currently testing NBU 6.0 MP4 and NOM MP4.
Looks very good so far. Even NOM is getting better.
You can see that many bugs have disappeared.
