I think Ed is referencing the "lost data".
Ie, your case falls of the Iron Mountain truck and lands in the street(Google 
Iron Mountain Time Warner, for example...there was anotherone...a bank... a 
while back) and some dude finds it, cracks the caseopen and imports the tapes 
in a Netbackup system.....
All the tracking systems in the world ain't gonna help there....sure youknow 
the tapes are lost, but you can't stop the guy who found them fromdoing 
anything with them.
