Yep ,agreed 
 
I am in the process of renaming a Master, have tested completely and am 
successful, however it's not supported by Symantec. So we have arranged to pay 
loads of money for PS to look over my shoulder while I perform the work in a 
couple weeks time. 
 
Something tells me I'm in the wrong job.

They won't help? err......won't tell you how to do it? or won't provide someone 
to do it?
 
Our local Veritas VAR does this as a PS deal......it's inline with "renaming a 
master server" which Veritas doesn't "support", so I'm not surprised if they 
won't tell you how to do it.

        We have 1 Red hat Linux netbackup 5.1 master server that we need to 
merge with a Solaris 9 netbackup 5.0 master server, Symantec support will not

        The Linux master will be replaced with a netbackup media server running 
Solaris 10 and it will hang off the Solaris 9 netbackup 5.0 master. So I need 
any restore request to go to this new media server that will replace the Linux 
master server.

        Any thoughts?
