You certainly can. However, the "target storage unit" you specify for
duplication must not have a "fragment size"....Fragment size must be
left default/infinite, or the dupe will complete with status 0, but you
will not be able to recover from the dupe'd tape.
However, in the situation where you have a tape that was dupe'd and
fragmented by the STU, you can re-dupe that tape to a non-fragmented
STU, and the fragments will be reassembled...THEN you can restore from
the newly created tape. Make sense?

Just double checked....and from what I can tell, you're right, there is
nothing to license from NetApp.
