Greg, Simon,

I couldn't agree more. Nothing worse than a master server crash but at
least when I experienced it I had a catalog backup from that day to save
my career.

Regards

Greg

Yes... make a window available!!! Because if something HITS the fan, and
you turn around and say you have no catalog to restore from, then I
guess you could be out of a job :-(

Seriously, only 6.0 allows "hot" catalog backups!! I just had an
environemnt that was running 24 x 7 - I added 2 additional tape drives
and things have never looked better. But even so, as a rule I always and
will continue to create a backup window for the catalog.

The Catalog is the heart of NetBackup - if you lose that you have ALOT
of importing to do and ALOT of backups that will not run !

Change the system, before it changes your job ! :-(

My opnion may differ to others, but the catalog backup is there for a
reason :-)

Thanks Greg Take Care ok :-)

What is the fastest way to backup up the db? We have backups
that run 24 hours, so there Is not time we don't have backup running.
What is the best way to back the db up? Any ideas?
