Indeed

By running

bpexpdate -m $tape -d 0 (and removing from the mediaDB)

expires all images on media and the media becomes unassigned however
this just means that the tape is now AVAILABLE.

To remove from volDB you need to vmdelete -m $tape .

If the two above commands are run the other way round you can cause
issues .

Regards

Dave

After the bpexpdate i would then vmdelete the media too. Then it
will be totally out the system.

        remove from Robot

Unless there is another method anyone can share?

What is the recommended way, "best practice" to
permanently remove tapes from netbackup? We have some tapes they will be
removed from one master and shipped to another location to a different
master. But I want to make sure that no traces of the tapes remain in
the old master. What is the best way to do this without causing any
issues?
