Excuse my ignorance, but could you elaborate on "unlink" and "unlinking" , is
dba terminology ?

Regards

Dave

Hi,

I was told by support :

You can upgrade from the master server but you should first do the unlink which
will have to be done locally on each machine as this is the recommended
procedure we support.

You can try pushing the software from the master server without unlinking
(provided that your Oracle databases on the client are shutdown) but we don't
recommend/support that.

Have u done it with Oracle running and offcourse no backups running ? which
versions of Oracle, 8.1.7 and newer ? with good results ?

Best regards

Christian Sonder
