If its 5.x I think you want vmglob:

Usage:
     vmglob -listall [-b | -java] [-h volume_database_host]

     vmglob -add -drive|-optical -drvtype <drive_type>
        -serial <serialnum> -name <drive_name>
        [-devhost <dev_host>] [-vdbhost <vdb_host>] [-flags <flags>]
        [-robnum robot_number -robdrvnum robot_drive_number -robtype
robot_type]
        [-ACS <acsnum> -LSM <lsmnum> -PANEL <panelnum> -DRIVE
<drivenum>]
        [-wwid <ww_id> -wwid_type <ww_id_type>] [-inquiry
<inquiry_string>]
        [-vdrvname <vendor_drive_name>] [-h volume_database_host]

vmglob -add -robot -serial <serialnum> -robnum <rob_number>
        [-devhost <dev_host>] [-vdbhost vdb_host] [-flags <flags>]
        [-wwid <ww_id> -wwid_type <ww_id_type>] [-inquiry
<inquiry_string>]
        [-libname <library_name>] [-cntlhost <cntlhost>]
        [-h volume_database_host]

     vmglob -change -drive|-optical -drvtype <drive_type>
        -serial <serialnum> -name <drive_name> [-old_name
<old_drive_name>]
        [-devhost <dev_host>] [-vdbhost <vdb_host>] [-flags <flags>]
        [-robnum robot_number -robdrvnum robot_drive_number -robtype
robot_type]
        [-ACS <acsnum> -LSM <lsmnum> -PANEL <panelnum> -DRIVE
<drivenum>]
        [-wwid <ww_id> -wwid_type <ww_id_type>] [-inquiry
<inquiry_string>]
        [-vdrvname <vendor_drive_name>] [-h volume_database_host]

     vmglob -change -robot -serial <serialnum>
        -robnum <rob_number> [-old_robnum <old_rob_number>]
        [-devhost <dev_host>] [-vdbhost vdb_host] [-flags <flags>]
        [-wwid <ww_id> -wwid_type <ww_id_type>] [-inquiry
<inquiry_string>]
        [-libname <library_name>] [-cntlhost <cntlhost>]
        [-h volume_database_host]

     vmglob -delete -drive|-optical -drvtype <drive_type>
        -serial <serialnum> -name <drive_name>
        [-devhost <dev_host>] [-vdbhost <vdb_host>] [-flags <flags>]
        [-robnum rob_number -robdrvnum robot_drive_number -robtype
robot_type]
        [-wwid <ww_id> -wwid_type <ww_id_type>] [-h
volume_database_host]

vmglob -delete -robot -serial <serialnum> -robnum <rob_number>
        [-devhost <dev_host>] [-vdbhost vdb_host] [-flags <flags>]
        [-wwid <ww_id> -wwid_type <ww_id_type>] [-h
volume_database_host]

     vmglob -get_gdbhost [-h volume_database_host]
     vmglob -set_gdbhost <global DB hostname> [-h volume_database_host]

replaced...how do
I tell Netbackup about the new serial number?
