Hi Johnny
Thanks for this - At the moment, some of our NBU 5.x environments are quite
complex, so upgrading them to 6.0 and having the use of BMR is not an option
straight away.

If it was ?500+ for a license to be placed on the master, which allowed me
to use IDR for some of the critical servers (ie: SAN Media Servers, business
DB Servers, Email ) then I would have felt a little happier.

BMR does integrate with 6 as you stated. the other product I am looking at
is Live State Recovery - but that integrates with Backup Exec!!!

Thanks

Hi Simon

I have an old listprice from the end of 2004 and that was USD 1.125 per
Windows client.

But don't spend any money, time or energy om IDR. It is a dead end. IDR is
not and will not be supported under NBU 6.0 or later.
MBR is the way of the future.
And if you have to implement IDR make sure that you can swap your IDR
licenses to BMR licenses when you migrate to NBU 6.0.
It has been a pest to get Veritas to replace my old IDR licenses with BMR
licenses, but I finaly got a standard letter a few days ago with the new BMR
licenses.

Guys
Got a quote for NBU IDR for 5.1, and the quote is around several hundred
pounds, but what is not clear and what I dont seem tobe able to verify is
whether this covers mulitple Windows Servers or not.

I know the license would go on the Master Server for the IDR, but does
anyone know if the IDR cost is for as many Client computers I have?

Any clarification would be great.

Thanks
