Hi Nouresh,

5 GB is MUCH smaller than 400 GB (the native size of LTO3 tapes). 
Even if your data grows 10 or 20 times larger, it still makes sense to
do full backups every day of both DBs.

Are you using the NetBackup Agent for Oracle ?

The NetBackup Agent for Oracle only does 2 things for backups:
-1. triggers an RMAN script to start outputting data from the DB, and
-2. creates a pipe to the tape for this data coming out of the DB.

Are you backing up anything else?  like the filesystem or other
servers?   If all you are backing up is one clustered Oracle system,
then NetBackup is probably not very helpful.
