I asked a question similar to this, in regards to whether NBPUSHDATA needs
more disk space, but I am still not entirely sure.
The response Jim made indicated, that Netbackup leaves the current DB intact
and perhaps creates a new DB - but surely this means more disk space.

Hello Wayne,
I can not tell you about the catalog space, but the log space required is a
huge jump in size. Their a number of new daemons running each with it's own
log. And

Subject: [Veritas-bu] NBU 6.0 catalog size vs 5.1 catalog size
Our environment is HP-UX 11.11, Netbackup 5.1 MP3 backing up mostly HP unix
with some Sun and Windows backups. We are planning to upgrade to 6.0 within
the next few months. I was just asked if NetBackup will need additional
disk for the upcoming year. Does the 6.0 catalog require about the same
disk space as the 5.1 catalog or is the 6.0 catalog significantly larger?
Thanks in advance.
