Problem solved! Thank you very much-I expected a chain of frustrating
emails back and forth between VERITAS support before even stumbling on
to anything.

Thanks again-

Hi.

=20

Are you running the ASA service with localsystem account or something
else. I had an issue when I first installed NBU6.0 and I set the Domain
Admin user for NBU services. The ASA service refused to stay up. After
changing only the ASA service to localsystem it seemed to be OK.

=20

Regards,

Jim

Subject: [Veritas-bu] NB6 MP2 - ASA Server Dies

Well, I finally managed to upgrade to NB6 with everything working (sort
of), but it seems quite buggy. The worst of the problem is as follows:
immediately following a successful offline catalog backup (tape or disk,
I've tested both), the Adaptive Server Anywhere process (dbsrv9) dies
which is a dependency of the EMM database service and the Resource
Broker - therefore, they stop responding.

=20

Normalcy can be restored by stopping the Resource Broker service, then
the EMM service - and restarting all of them. I can't seem to find any
debugging output for the EMM, ASA or RB services. Has anyone come
across this? It's a W2K SP4 master.

=20

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

=20

Thanks-
