I got no reply to this so I thought I'd post an update. I've found a
number of other users who are having issues backing up Oracle 10g DBs
with 5.1 Media Servers (Solaris, Linux & Windows) that are getting this
same error. Anyone here have anything similar? I'm trying to determine
if this is a known issue with 5.1 MP4 and Oracle 10g R2 or not? I've
seen quite a bit on Symantec's site with other users having similar
issues.

Running an Oracle 10g backup with 5.1MP4 to Windows 2003 5.1MP4 Master
and Media servers. This is my first 10g database, so I'm wondering if
something is different from older versions of Oracle? Basically backup
starts, kicks off child job for database backup which goes to queued and
times out / fails with error 50.

pbhdb log is no help...
