I haven't tried 4.5 in particular but I would assume that:

* The client should install reasonably well in the global zone, but you
will probably need to run 'inetconv' to convert the /etc/inetd.conf
entry it creates into an SMF compatible entry.

* Solaris 10 ACLs will not be supported, only classic UNIX permissions.

* There are one or two new filesystems that it may try to back up, but
would not be a good idea. You may or may not need to explicitly exclude
/devices, /system/contract, and /system/object.

* If you use zones, they often make use of the loopback filesystem mount
type. I don't know if 4.5 will follow loopback mounts or not. If it
does, it could be backing up the same data multiple times.

Since even the 5.x client requires particular patch levels to support
Solaris 10, I don't know what kind of problems you might run into with
4.5.
