Best thing to do my friend is try it :-)
this is what I tend to do is this....
* From Master, Stop Database and Request Manager services. this
assumes, NO backups/restores are going
* In the Current Image Path, create a base file called ALTPATH
* In this file, put the new PATH NAME (ie:
E:\Vertias\Netbackup\ALT_DATABASE\<ClientName>
* Create the new folder in the new directory (ie:
E:\Veritas\netbackup\Alt_Database\<ClientName>
* Move the contents from the original image path to new path. ENSURE
ALTPATH is NOT included in the copy process.
* Start the Services again
* In the Wizard for Configuring Netbackup, ensure its pointing to the
new location (E:\Veritas\Netbackup\Alt_Database\<ClientName>
Just take your time and you should be fine. But it does work.
Hope this is of some help. Give it a try and test it on a small client
backup machine.

Thanks Simon.
Good to know the ALTPATH works. I might have to just move a couple of my
largest clients using this method. Would be nice to move everything though.
I had seen that link - :-) - only supported if you purchase services. It
means it can be done obviously. Probably just needs some fancy scripting to
edit catalog files in situ.
Thanks again,
Ian

The ALTPATH is what I use to move images from one drive to another drive.
I then reconfigure the Catalog Wizard to point to these new images.
If you want to move everything, then you may need to uninstall and reinstall
everything to a new location.
wonder if this helps? http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/267137.htm

Subject: [Veritas-bu] relocate catalog
Hi All,
I've got a Windows 2003 NB 5.1MP2 master server. Soon to upgrade to NB 6.
Does anyone know if it's possible to move the location of the catalog?
I've seen info about relocating just image catalog for individual clients
using ALTPATH file, but nothing about relocating the entire catalog
directories (ie from C: to D:).
I have to ask.
Thanks in advance,
Ian
