[Veritas-bu] Error 54

When I get an error 54 its usually because the hosts cannot find each
other. It really has nothing to do with RMAN. Check DNS resolution.

Try on the client...
ping <servername>
ping -a <server ip>
=20
(assuming windows)
=20
There is also a built-in NBU command to essentially do this but I can't
quite remember what it is.
