Dave (and all),

The -primary switch on bpduplicate will change the primary to the target.

For example:
bpduplicate -primary -id 000773 -dstunit SureStore20_700_ys -dp
NB_duplicates -s 01/01/2004

AFTER this operation is verified, just use bpexpdate to expire the source
media (CAREFUL - this will delete data):

   bpexpdate -force -m 000773 -d 0

Bulk changes promoting to primary is simply done with bpchangeprimary
command. The entire pool can be made primary for tapes created after a
certain date.

   bpchangeprimary -pool NB_duplicates -sd 03/23/2006

will make all images in the NB_duplicates pool created after 3/23/06
primary, so restores will come from there.

Its not really the correct option as you will now need to change the
copy number to 3 when you want to do a restore and not to copy number 2.

The reason i think this has happened is as the message suggests it
already has 2 copies as you did a successfully duplication. Did you use
the -copy flag on the bpexpdate command to expire your copy?#
