The restore is not managed by what library owns the tape. A restore, by =
default, requests all tapes that contain the *primary* image for the =
data to be restored regardless of the location of the tape. If this =
offsite tape contains copies of images that are also on local tapes, =
then you need to change the onsite copies to be marked as the primary =
copies.
=20
There's a "bpchangeprimary" command for this.
=20
Depending on how you might be creating the copy, you can manage the =
"primary" tape designation using Vault, ITC, or bpduplicate.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Restore tape is being requested on the wrong tape =
library

I have a restore that is requesting 6 tapes, the 1st tape is loaded from =
tape library 2 and runs fine then the second tape gets requested from =
tape library 2 also even though the second tape is in tape library 1. =
The tape may have been in that library at one time but it is now in our =
off-site library(tape library 1) and the following commands verify that =
is in the off-site library. Everything shows robot 1 has tape S00054.=20
=20
Any ideas how I can make this restore look for each tape in its correct =
library?
=20
Thanks for any help.
