[Veritas-bu] client host properties not connecting

I can backup and restore to a server but when I try to access the client
host properties I get a network connection timeout. This happens on
about half of my clients but the others connect immediately. How do this
connection take place and how can the connectivity be troubleshooted.
Telnet, ftp host entries etc seem ok.
