Hi.

I don't think that you need to anything weird. You can restore a MSSQL
backup to an alternate SQL Server - clustered or not.

See the MSSQL Admin Giude). Beware only of security issues (users and logons
etc).

Regards,
Jim

Subject: [Veritas-bu] restore of clustered SQL database on virtual node to
stand alone server

Hi, I backup a MS SQL Enterprise 2000 Cluster using the virtual node name to
backup the databases.I backup the OS of each physical node using the
physical hostname. I would like to restore these SQL databases at my DR site
and I have one server available for the restore. Is it possible to restore
the database to a server that is not a member of a Microsoft cluster using
the following options.

(a) non clustered server with physical hostname the same as the original

(b) non clustered server with different physical hostname

Many Thanks. Mark
